Dr. Kleinman grew up in Richmond, Texas. After earning an undergraduate degree at Rice University, he attended medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and completed his surgery residency at Montefiore/Albert Einstein in the Bronx, New York.
Later, he returned to the Houston area where he has been in private practice for more than 25 years. He founded Surgery Associates of Houston in 2001 and maintains academic affiliations with the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and Baylor Medical School.
His training bridges the eras of both traditional open and laparoscopic surgery. He performs more than 700 major surgeries per year.
Board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Kleinman's additional memberships include: The American Society of Breast Surgeons, International Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Association (IHPBA), The Texas Surgical Society, Houston Surgical Society, Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO).
