Respitory & Lung Care (Pulmonology)

Respiratory & Lung Care (Pulmonology)

Pulmonary care is a resource for patients with respiratory diseases and sleep disorders. CHI St. Luke’s Health board-certified specialists partner with patients to diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions. Our goal is to restore a patient’s health, while empowering him or her to manage the condition and prevent further issues.

Physicians diagnose pulmonary (lung-related) problems with a combination of physical exam, chest X-ray, and pulmonary function tests. The most technologically advanced diagnostic tools and specially trained health professionals are available to physicians. CHI St. Luke’s Health Sleep Centers are located throughout Greater Houston to address sleep problems that are caused by pulmonary issues.

Treatment is a continuum of care that varies according to each patient’s condition. It may include prevention, education, medication therapy, outpatient or inpatient procedures, and lifestyle changes.

Acute and chronic pulmonary conditions include:

  • Lung cancer
  • Pulmonary sleep disorders
  • Emphysema
  • Asthma
  • Sleep disorders
