COVID-19 Testing in Greater Houston: Where to Go and What You Should Know

If you suspect that you have COVID-19, we recommend that you call your primary care physician to explain your symptoms and find a location to go for testing. If you are having difficulty breathing or other life-threatening symptoms, please call 911 or visit a local emergency room, but call ahead to let them know to take precautions.
As testing and identifying those with COVID-19 are extremely important to help stop the spread, counties around Houston have opened up several public, drive-through testing sites to visit. Many of these testing sites require that you call ahead and receive a code to then take to the appropriate location.
COVID-19 Testing in Harris County
If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please visit ReadyHarris.com to take an online assessment or, if you can’t access the internet, call 832-927-7575. You don’t have to be a resident of Harris County to participate. If you are a candidate for testing, you will receive a number and the address of a testing site.
COVID-19 Testing in Brazoria County
If you are in Brazoria County and think you might have the novel coronavirus, find an available testing site close to home and call ahead to make sure they can accommodate you.
Preparing for Testing
Remember that there might be long lines at these testing sites, and you may not have access to a bathroom. Consider bringing the following things with you:
- Water (not too much, as restroom facilities may be limited)
- Fully charged cell phone and charger
- Book or any other activities to help you pass the time.

The Fort Bend County COVID-19 Call Center is answering questions about COVID-19, it’s symptoms, and it’s prevention via phone. To access this service, call 281-633-7795. The Call Center is open Monday - Friday, from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
