Clinical Pastoral Education residents and interns at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center particularly benefit from presentations and individual consultations with faculty, theologians, visiting scholars, and experienced psychotherapists who are invested in pastoral formation.
CPE Internship
This part-time, 26-week CPE program is primarily designed for ministers and laypersons who want to improve their pastoral skills and/or explore the possibility of chaplaincy as a vocation.
CPE Residency I and II
Ordained and lay ministers who are seeking to enhance their ministries or prepare for board-certification, will benefit from this full-time, one-year, three-unit CPE program. A previous unit of CPE is required. A second full-time, one-year CPE program is intended for individuals with a previous year of residency who are seeking board-certification, clinical specialization, and/or are engaged in research relevant to pastoral care.
Supervisory Education & Training
Supervisory training involves a full-time, three-year commitment to mastering the educational skills, theories, and practice necessary to effectively train individuals from diverse cultures, religions, developmental stages, and styles of being and doing. This program requires a minimum of five previous units of CPE and completion of Level II Outcomes.
