Interventional Radiology is a subspecialty of Radiology that offers a comprehensive, minimally invasive program of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The radiologists will guide small instruments such as catheters (tubes that measure just a few millimeters in diameter) through the blood vessels or other pathways to treat disease percutaneously (through the skin).Utilizing advanced imaging technology, the interventional radiologist can precisely navigate the instruments and operate on the targeted site. In many cases, Interventional Radiology offers an alternative to surgical treatment and the need for hospitalization.
Our Interventional radiologists are subspecialty certified in Interventional Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. Our interventional technologists have specialized training and are licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the Texas Department of Health (TDH.)
