Ajith Nair, MD

Dr. Ajith Nair is the Assistant Professor of Medicine Section of Cardiology at the Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology and American Society of Echocardiography – Adult Echocardiography.

He holds memberships in American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, Fellow American Heart Association and Pulmonary Hypertension Association. He holds academic/hospital appointments with the Baylor College of Medicine Faculty Practice Steering Committee Internal Medicine Representative. He was awarded Chief Fellow, Cardiology, Mount Sinai Hospital (July 2006 – June 2007), President: American Heart Association Fellows Society of Greater New York (May 2006), Teaching Fellow Award, Department of Medicine, Mt Sinai School of Medicine (July 2004 – June 2005), Chief Resident, Internal Medicine, Mount Sinai Hospital (January 1999) and Medial Student Research Forum, Research Award (U. of Texas Southwestern)

His interests include General Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Transplantation and Mechanical Assist Devices.

 Zaid Taimeh
Ziad A Taimeh, MD

Ziad A Taimeh, MD is a cardiologist specializing in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and transplantation cardiology. Before arriving to Houston, he earned his medical degree from University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman, Jordan. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at University of Louisville School of Medicine, a Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship at University of Minnesota School of Medicine, and an Advanced Heart Failure – Transplant Cardiology fellowship at Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine. Recognized as often for his innovative work, he has been the recipient of prestigious awards such as the Young Innovator Award from the American Society of Transplantation, and the Innovation in Engineering & Medicine Award from The University of Minnesota. He is a co-author of the recently released textbook “Congestive Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation,” and has authored many peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Taimeh joins Baylor College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Cardiology.

Dr. Taimeh’s interests include Advanced Heart Failure; Durable Mechanical Circulatory Support: Ventricular Assist Devices and Total Artificial Heart; Percutaneous Mechanical Circulatory Support: Veno-Venous and Veno-Arterial Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, and Impella; Heart Transplantation; Autoimmune Cardiomyopathies and Sarcoidosis; Peripartum Cardiomyopathy and Cardiogenic Shock.
