The Ultrasound department at CHI St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The radiologists are board-certified through the American Board of Radiology.  The Ultrasound Technologists are Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS), and fulfill their credentialing requirement by maintaining continuing education required by the American Board of Registered Sonographers.

The Ultrasound department uses the most advanced technology and equipment capable of performing a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Utilizing color flow and power Doppler imaging we are able to accurately image the abdomen, pelvis, liver and kidneys.  High frequency transducers are dedicated to the specialized evaluation of the neck, thyroid, and musculoskeletal system.

CHI St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital utilizes dedicated radiologists to perform ultrasound guided interventional procedures including:

  • Liver/Kidney biopsies
  • Thyroid/Lymph Node biopsies
  • Neck biopsies
  • Prostate biopsies
  • Parencentesis/Thoracentesis
  • Abscess/fluid collection drainages
