  • F – Face drooping or numb. Ask the person to smile. Is the smile uneven?
  • A – Arm weak or numb. Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift down? 
  • S – Speech slurred. Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence. Is it hard to understand?
  • T – Time to call 9-1-1. Check the time the first symptom appeared, and get the person to CHI St. Luke's Health–The Woodlands Hospital Emergency Department immediately.
