The Cardiology Fellowship Program at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital offers training in five speciality areas: Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology and Echocardiography. These programs have a limited number of available positions for each academic year.

Interventional Cardiology
The objectives of the Interventional Cardiology Training Program at St. Luke's are pre-procedural evaluation and management of the patient and progressive practical experience.

Nuclear Medicine
The primary goal of training in cardiac nuclear medicine is to allow the fellow to develop an understanding of the applications, advantages, and pitfalls of radioisotope imaging as they apply to patients with known or possible cardiac disease.

Electrophysiology
The goal of the Electrophysiology Training program at St. Luke's is to train excellent, scholarly, clinical cardiac electrophysiologists with a vast and diverse experience in clinical and interventional electrophysiology.

Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology
The training program at St. Luke’s/Texas Heart Institute is well suited to train physicians who specialize in heart failure and cardiac transplantation. The program enjoys a large transplant volume, the largest assist device and artificial circulation program in the region and many research endeavors in heart failure and transplantation.

Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging
The training program at CHI St. Luke's Health/Texas Heart Institute is an approved subspecialty Fellowship of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. The program is particularly well suited for training physicians to specialize in non-invasive imaging of the cardiovascular system using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT)..

Echocardiography
Level 1, 2 and 3 echo training are offered. Training includes surface echo, stress echo, transesophageal echo (TEE) and intraoperative TEE, all of which meet requirements for certification by the National Board of Echocardiography. There are currently no dedicated echo training fellowship positions available. Echo training is provided in the context of the 3 year general cardiology fellowship program.
