Why Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center: Ellen was first drawn to Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center because of its reputation as a well-respected teaching hospital in the world’s largest medical center. She wanted to work with a diverse patient population where she would be exposed to a variety of challenging patient cases. Furthermore, the strong cardiology rotations offered along with a variety of other clinical rotations available would provide her with a well-rounded experience while tailoring to her areas of interest. Additionally, upon visiting the program, she felt a sense of community among the residents, preceptors, and staff where residents would be able to practice in an autonomous yet supportive environment.
