Fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopy is a special type of X-Ray that allows a radiologist to examine different parts of your body. Fluoroscopy is done in the radiology department with equipment that allows a radiologist to see the organs and tissues in your body in motion. Most fluoroscopic exams require the use of X-Ray dye to better see the organs in your body. The images of your body will appear on a monitor like a TV screen.

Fluoroscopy is commonly used to examine the digestive tract, urinary system, reproductive system, access joint stability, and detect abnormalities affecting the spinal cord.

Radiologic Technologists are registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and licensed with the Texas Department of Health (TDH). All technologists participate in continuing education annually to fulfill their licensure credentialing requirement.

Women should inform their physician if they are pregnant, or if there is any possibility they may be pregnant.

Radiation Dose: Special care is taken during X-Ray examinations to use of the lowest radiation dose possible while producing the best images for evaluation.
