What is an OB Nurse Navigator?

As any expectant mom knows, the anticipation of the birthing experience is an exciting time but can sometimes be overwhelming. Beginning at 24 weeks, and lasting until it is time for you and your baby to return home, the navigator acts as a personal guide for expectant parents.

The Family Birthing Center at St. Luke’s Health-Sugar Land Hospital offers the OB Nurse Navigator Program to help moms feel confident and comfortable before, during and after the big day arrives. The Navigator‘s goal is to provide patient satisfaction, education, and communication between the obstetrician and staff nurses. Should your baby need to spend time in our NICU, your nurse navigator will be able to assist in answering questions. Think of the nurse navigator as your personal search engine- to help you “navigate” your hospital experience.
