Houston, TX (August 2, 2017) – CHI St. Luke’s Health is pleased to announce that Charles "Chuck" Ellison, a long-time resident of the Brazos Valley, has been appointed to the system’s board of directors.

Ellison, an accomplished attorney, earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and his law degree from Texas Tech School of Law. After spending four years in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, he returned to Bryan/College Station in 1983 to practice law with Delaney, Caperton, Rodgers & Miller. In 1999, he founded The Ellison Firm, a transactional law practice.

His accomplishments as an attorney include being named an AV Preeminent attorney by Martindale-Hubbell—ranking him at the highest level of professional excellence for his legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards. In addition, he was named the 2013 "Aggie Lawyer of the Year" by the Texas Aggie Bar Association, and selected as a 2014 Distinguished Alumnus of Texas A&M University.

"I am proud to serve as a new board member of the CHI St. Luke’s Health system board," Ellison said. "I look forward to bringing insight from my experience living and serving in the Brazos Valley to help ensure people in our region receive the best care possible."

Over the years, Ellison has dedicated much of his time to serving on numerous boards and committees in the Brazos Valley, including CHI St. Joseph Health, City of College Station, First National Bank of Bryan, and in various capacities with Texas A&M University.

"We are excited to have Mr. Ellison join our board," said Leonard Tallerine, chairman of CHI St. Luke’s Health board of directors. "His legal and financial expertise, as well as remarkable influence in the Brazos Valley, will play an important part in the continued success of our health system."
