Houston, TX (August 23, 2016) – CHI St. Luke’s Health–The Woodlands Hospital hosted an interactive demonstration to showcase the fourth-generation, first-of-its-kind da Vinci XI Surgical System with Integrated Table Motion technology.

This system combines the latest robotic-assisted surgical system, the da Vinci Xi, and an advanced integrated table motion, which simultaneously moves in real-time with the surgeon’s robotic arm movements. This unique functionality positions the table so that gravity exposes anatomy during multi-quadrant procedures; maximize reach and access to target anatomy—enabling surgeons to interact with tissue at an ideal working angle; as well as reposition the table during the procedure to enhance anesthesiologist’s care of the patient. CHI St. Luke’s Health–The Woodlands Hospital is the only facility in the Greater Houston area with the Integrated Table Motion technology.

“We’re excited to have the latest da Vinci robot with all the bells and whistles to help manage our most complex surgical cases with the utmost intricate coordination and orchestration,” said Dr. Field, General Surgeon. “Integrated table motion allows surgeons to maximize reach and access throughout the surgical process, enabling more efficient interaction with tissue and target anatomy. Having this technology will help meet the needs of our patients and physicians.”

By enhancing surgical capabilities, the da Vinci Xi Robotic System has helped improve clinical outcomes and redefine standards of care—from reduce trauma to the body to reduced blood loss to shorter hospital stay and faster recovery.

“This amazing technology allows us to offer comprehensive treatment opportunities to our patients,” said David G. Argueta, President, CHI St. Luke’s Health–The Woodlands, Lakeside, and Springwoods Village Hospitals. “This is a win for The Woodlands community to receive such high-level care closer to home.”
