It only takes minutes to add years to someone’s life. That’s how long it takes to draw one unit of blood, and your one donation has the potential to save as many as three lives. Make a commitment today to give the gift of life by donating blood regularly at our Blood Donor Center.
Our Blood Donor Center is located at CHI St. Luke's Health–Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, which is located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. The Center is a comprehensive blood collection donor center. It is located on the first floor of the hospital in Room C110.
Patients at CHI St. Luke's Health - as at all hospitals - sometimes require blood transfusions. Because the overall supply of blood is limited (blood cannot be manufactured) blood donors are needed everyday. For this reason, individuals, patient's families and friends of patients are encouraged to donate regularly.
If you have questions at anytime during the donation process please ask.
What is “Commit for Life”? Commit for Life is a community campaign to permanently increase the blood supply in our region. In the Texas Gulf Coast, we need a certain number of donations each day, but we’re consistently falling short. It’s our hope that the Commit for Life program helps reduce this shortage. Thanks to advancing medical treatments, patients are conquering illnesses that they would not have survived just a few years ago. With such advancements comes an increased need for blood. That’s why we hope you’ll join us and Commit for Life!
It’s Easy. Follow these three simple steps:
